Bro this doesnt help me out at all. I want to charge for a 3200 watt asic running 24 hours. How much solar does that take. Its ridiculous amounts of energy. No efficient solution
I have 3 of those little box miners.. Mini Doge, KD Box and the KD box II. I also have 2 solar arrays outside.. 1200w (6×200) on a dual axis tracker and a 1740w (6×290) I have unlimited power with my rent but living in an RV with only 30a of shore power. I'd like to experiment with something just like this. I also do CPUGPU nicehash mining. The EVGA GT1000 PSU recently died so 1 cpu and gpu are down for a bit.
your experiment videos are awesome! im having trouble running off of solar. idk why so many hydbrid charge controllers need battery input to power on. i have the 48v renogy charge controller that gives errors and a sp6548 charge controller and i cant get either to power anything without the battery hooked up
at the scrap yard i been picking up 240w panels for $10 each lol, got so many now..
Why did you get the McDonald’s kiddies meal battery?
Hey Brad, I was wondering if it's possible to connect a converter + the load directly to the batteries instead of the charge controller load. Would the charge controller still be able to charge the batteries while also allowing the batteries to discharge from the load?
Also, what advantages are there to connecting the converter and the load in the charge controller, rather than directly connecting them to the battery?
What about an l Three plus
????????
Its definitely possible mathematically. But, your cost will be batteries. If you can get enough panels to run miners for about 5 hours a day during peak hours.
Was looking for something that powers all my mining equipment.
These YouTube experiments are providing me with tons of information. Thank you so much.
Hi again Brad, as you guess I like alot the idea of using direct solar power. I thought it possible, and you prove it!
It was quite simple to do it on KD box 2, but I wish to do it on antmain S19J – I don't have it yet, but thinking to use the same idea on it too.
But it seems more complex, I have seen videos how to replace the PSU, so that simple. So to connect to the two bus bars on the top, can be not too hard, and to replace the 6pin 12V connector seems simple too, I am not sure what is the small connector I assume also 12v power, but not sure, possibly some control?
If you can have video on it, or if you have a solution – I'll go for it. (BTW, of course I will use the 12V relay of 500A that you have used in other video – great idea!!)
Again many thanks!! (Of course it's all on me – you just give ideas – which is great!!)
Hi Brad, I am not clear why to use the 24->12V convertor. (As you said its get hitted – so lose energy) why not use direct 12V, 4 batteries in parallel of course.
(e.g. what is the gain of using 24V if any?)
Thanks.
I recently bought the Victron 48v Multiplus. I'm no electrician so I'm waiting on someone to come wire it up. I'm hoping my panels will start working better to recharge the 400Ah's faster.. I've got a mini split that the panels will be powering also. It draws about 800w when cooling..
Thanks for the info and video
There's charge control that reduce 24v to 12v. So you could run the miner right of the charge control/battery
You have 4 12v battery. Put all the battery in paraller and you will save the lost power by converting 24v to 12v.
hi, is is safer with gpu mining to add a 12 volt dc-dc converter or just runing from the battery?
nice setup
Can you provide a link to that converter plz??
How much can you make if you have a 700 watts setup per week let’s say??? Less or more then 100$? Running only during the day of course.
